The built-in microprocessor analyzes the sample through the sapphire glass and compensates for temperatures in the range of 0 to +50 °C. The value is displayed within seconds.

Calibration is performed with a single button press by measuring a few drops of pure water. The refractometer is constructed from robust plastic and withstands rough handling. A protective cover can be folded down over the sensor cup to protect it.

Available accessories include a sturdy ABS storage box and a rubber cover that fits over the instrument.
